The System Defence R56 is an advanced infantry-class rifle that utilizes the standard AR15 platform chambered in 5.56x45mm caliber. Compared to equivalent AR15 class rifles, the R56 features Quick Change Barrel (QCB) capability for rapid barrel removal with a single lever, a cold-forged barrel for improved accuracy and durability and a bolt group and receiver that can withstand the power and precision of a machine gun.

The R56 employs a polymer 30-round standard AR15 magazine and has an effective range of 550 meters. It is equipped with MIL.SPEC rails around the receiver and handguard to accommodate various tactical needs, allowing customization with stocks, grips, muzzle devices, suppressors, sight and other accessories.
